★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You have to enjoy going to Focal Point, the staff are bubbly and nothing is a problem. Should you want a bite to eat or a drink they'll deliver it right to your luxurious seat. Top marks team.
Just a follow up, tonight's movie, I booked on line and collected the tickets an hour before. The guy behind the counter asked if I had seen the snacks available and suggested I order now to have them delivered once seated. Top marks for up selling and making life easier. Saved us queuing unnecessarily.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome, awesome, awesome. I live in Feilding and Palmerston Focal Point has become my regular cinema.
I would never go back to the Event Cinema in Palmerston it's not a patch on the Focal.
Great food, excellent seating and fantastic sized screen.
Great for family, friends and functions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No popcorn and we weren't allowed to bring our own even though we were purchasing drinks & other items from the menu. So we ordered some hot food which was nice...but there was no table between our 2 seats so we had to balance the hot plates on our legs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried the cafe here within the cinema,as it was reasonably new. Glad I did. Nice setting with great menu (try the waffles) and cabinet food at reasonably prices too. Plenary of seating and good coffee. Parking outside on the street. Will be back on my next visit to Palmerston North….

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food and love the small intimate theater, makes you feel like you are in the movie! The cafe has great food and being able to have food and drinks (They even bring in your hot food and drinks when they are made) in the cinema is awesome. Definitely our go to cinema now

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I first patronized this place about a year ago. I ordered some food to takeaway, one of which was the Focal Point Burger, kiwi angus home-made beef patty according to their menu. When I got home, it was a grilled salmon fillet between 2 buns! At first, I thought it was a honest mistake and then I thought, hang on, a grilled salmon fillet looks nothing like a meat patty. Then I thought, maybe they were busy. Nope, I clearly recall I it was after lunch and there was no one else ordering takeaway that day. Anyway, the reason I choose to write this review now is because it happened again.
I was there with a group of ladies for a movie, a few of us ordered some light snacks to have while watching the movie. After waiting for close to an hour, I decided to go out and check my order. The staff were already cleaning up and have obviously forgotten my order. So the young lady heated up my order in the microwave. When I took the food back to my seat, it was cold.
I know there are plenty of good reviews of this place. I’ve only had 2 experiences here and they were BOTH bad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm not a movie buff but enjoy eating out. Found the cafe great. Food was delish, great selection all at a reasonable price. A nicely roomy place with good service and efficient staff. I'll definitely go again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My review is based on our experience, you may or may not agree. It has rooms with 18- 30 plus seating. With large sofas, Big hand rests, ample walking spaces the place is really nice and relaxing. The screen may not be as big as the event cinema but i really liked being in a smaller place. You can take your food and drinks or order and they will bring it for you.
The staff is courteous. The servings are big. And reasonably priced.
They do need vaccine pass.
I won’t go to event cinema if the same movie is available here.
If you are a big group then it might be fun to buy the whole space.
