★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's awesome that the council do retain the willows along the lakeside! Although on the signage for this willow it is stated that they are thought of as invasive... The council must recognise the advantages of willows in the environment that humans have so badly degraded. They hold the land from erosion and increase water retention with massive soil biota activity. They are a first step towards remediating our environment. Yay for the biggest in Otago.
