Food looks great, menu offered a good mix of old and new classics.
Service was both good and fast. The real surprise is the outdoor area. Beautiful and unique, this must be an Instagramers heaven.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't feel its fair to post reviews of this cafe that pre-date 2020's lockdown, when the cafe changed hands. My partner and I used to love going to this cafe when it was run by Mojo Coffee—very nice food and atmosphere. For a city cafe the location is unbeatable, next to Albert Park, and the architecture of the gallery itself and the cafe is wonderful. Love it. A few months before lockdown the cafe changed management, changed its menu and shifted to table service, and still the food was very good. But we were very disappointed with the food quality since lockdown, when new management took over. We visited once soon after lockdown and wouldn't have gone back except recently to give it another chance. Regrettably the food hadn't improved at all. For me, it is unfortunate that such a beautiful gallery, a landmark and cultural centre in the heart of Auckland, should be let down by this small but important detail. Can we fix this, please?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maybe we went on the wrong day but what we got today was a very ordinary coffee, a truly dreadful cup of tea and one very stale (what seemed like at least 3 day old) cake. Couldn't drink the tea or eat the cake and these 3 things were a cool $16.30. Auckland Art Gallery is fabulous but you won't find us in the cafe ever again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice chips and coffee. This place is run by mojo now so the coffee is pretty legit. Really good cabinet and menu food. Plus they have sparkling water. Great hidden gem of a place.
