★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little gemoff the beaten track! The campground is right in the beach, offering a stunning sunset walk before bed, my only qualm was the that all water must by boiled before use and no showers (as advertised). Also 4 kea visited us and there is a spectacular view of Mount Cook

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome remote spot with a beautiful beach and basic DOC facilities. Gravel Road in may not be suitable for big campers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This camping site is unfortunately very often too crowded because it is only free one around. If you want to secure your spot here be early or you camp on a road. Close beach is nice especially at sunset time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Way off grid. A Nice place next to a Nice beach but you have to negotiate a long gravel road and there is definitely no cell reception for miles. Only $8.oo let night. Pay in the honesty box

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You'll pay $8 to be absolutely murdered by sandflies and you'll be glad for the privilege.
Stunning views of both the Southern Alps and the sun setting over the vast ocean leave you wondering which way to look. Speaking of which, the sunset lasts so long! We had well over an hour of beautiful colours across the sky both nights we were there.
Highly recommended (but seriously, be prepared to lose several litres of blood to the sandflies)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Abandoned road, Too less people visit this place as it's quite away from rest of the tourist attractions. But once you land here, it's good to be relaxed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent place to see the mountains. The beach was full of rocks and the water was rough but it was refreshing. There were alot of biting flies so bring the insect repellent. There was space to picnic either at tables or on the ground. The toilets were clean flush type which was nice. We were under the impression it was a free site, however there are fees upon arrival. The road in was winding and a little narrow, but its not to bad. We had a mid sized campervan and it was fine. There were sheep and deer on the road in so best to be careful especially if you come after dark like we did.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great beach campsite with plenty of space and wonderful views of the Alps. A bonus is the great viewpoint of Fox Glacier that you pass on the way. Lots of intriguing gold minjng history to learn about from the informative signboard.
