★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I read the reviews thinking I would get fantastic fish and chips but far from it!!! What I did not like:
More batter than fish
Lacks salt
Side salad drenched in mayo
A positive would be their chips. Freshly made but I would recommend some vinegar on the fish n chips

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My girlfriend and i got two Chow Mein meals. She made it through a third of hers and i had my first bite and threw it away. Was disappointing but i enjoyed my baked beans much more than i would have that meal. Food was soft and flavorless, didn't seem fresh and made me cringe. On the flip side, we only spent $37 to find out we don't need to go there again. Spring rolls were as good though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was impressed the first takeaway in months the place was clean/tidy The roast Pork chow mein was filling and I still had enough for another meal give them a go. They also do a buffet if you just want to do a fast order.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered chicken with ginger and mixed vegetables. Nearly all of it was broccoli or cauliflower. I picked out the small pieces of what looks like reconstituted chicken. There was less than quarter of a chicken breast there. As for flavour, it was ok, but I like ginger and there wasn't much of that either. Won't be going back. If you sell it as a chicken meal, put some chicken in it?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Fish and Chips I’ve had in a long time. The chips are especially good. I’m a Kiwi now living in Canada and this was my first taste of good ole kiwi fish and chips in 5 years! Golden Nest did not disappoint. Better than I remember. Will be my go-to when I’m next back in NZ
