β β β β β Felt like Fish N chips and our usual is closed for Renovations so decided to try Johns. We had not been back for awhile. Ordered the $25.00 family pack (5 fish, 2 potato fritters, 2 hotdogs and 2 scoops of chips), spring rolls and toasted sandwhich...to be honest the toasted sandwhich and the two hotdogs was probably the only thing we enjoyed. The fish was double battered and unfortunately heavy in oil, hardly any fish. The chips were ok, potato fritters was just batter...heavy in oil as well. Spring rolls..took one bite and unfortunately that was it.
Disapointed really as Johns used to be pretty good...unless we just hit a bad night. I have heard it can be a hit n miss...oh well..dont think we will be going back anytime soon.

β β β β β Best fish and chips in the Hutt Valley. Always friendly. Able to phone orders through. Chinese food is good too. As with all Chinese food. Loads of MSG and the sauces can be terribly sweet, Lemon Chicken. Sweet and Sour Pork etc. Otherwise Hearty fare. Recommend.
