We’re obsessed with fresh, so we use 90% recycled brown glass to keep out the light, and close it with an airtight resealable cap to lock that unbeatable flavour in.
That’s all you really need to know, though super fans will tell you that this custom bottle shape and closure is designed to further optimise freshness by reducing oxidation and gas leakage (our beer and cider is handmade and unpasteurised, so that stuff is important).

The food was your typical pub style food. Large portion sizes, and mostly seasoned with salt and better. Fresh and cooked well, but not gourmet.
Will come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited recently for a birthday dinner and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was on point and, tasty, and much more refined than most pub meals. F&B menus offered plenty of choice and staff were friendly. Only minor issue was that there no blinds on the windows or air-con so it was a little stuffy as the sun went down. Will definitely be back ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great beer, wonderful service. The Hawker rolls were wonderful. Would definitely recommend to those with young families, work mates and anyone looking for a plate of food and pint.
Nice little alcoves for groups, providing that private feel.
Big open areas, great for social events, like rugby.
Next time we are in Rotorua and should we intend on a meal or beer, we'll plan our trip around a visit to Good Eastern Taphouse

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really enjoyed our evening here ! The Hazy Pale Ale was a great choice, as was the platter we shared. All the staff were friendly and helpful, too.
Visited again later in the year and enjoyed our meals again. Excellent steak special and the prawns with coconut rice were so tasty! Such a lovely, friendly and helpful waitress, too. Tried some other Good George beers - good stuff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Heaps of potential, really tasty food. Tried the hawker roll, burger and pork belly main, all flavoursome and good , good crackle on the belly. Service wise a little disappointing, would of spent more on drinks and food if our table was cleared of empty glasses and plates at all during our visit.
