We love fashion and want you to look amazing and be comfortable on your wedding day! A gown you’ll want to wear all day and night.
Isabel @ Gown and Altar is an experienced designer and pattern maker. She has been making wedding dresses since making her own 5 years ago. ‘I couldn’t find the perfect easy summer gown, so decided to make my own. I fell in love with the fabric first, a sheer silk cotton with a delicate embroidery which inspired the design – a simple fitted bodice with a long flowing skirt & thin silk straps. It was the perfect fit for a wedding on Italy’s Amalfi Coast – simple, flowing and amazing to wear.’
Since launching in 2017, Gown + Altar has designed and made gowns for many beautiful brides all over the world, looking for that perfect dress.

From day one she was a rock and positive even though there was not much time to go on and even though I had some details I wanted to change. The dress came with fast delivery and was really everything I had dreamed of! β β β β β Wedding dress shopping had NOT been a fun process for me, but I immediately felt in good hands at Gown & Altar. Isabel's designs are so beautiful and timeless, and her dresses really flatter all shapes and sizes. I chose the Alba dress for our big summer wedding in Ohope and couldn't wait to wear it. Unfortunately COVID happened and plans changed, but Isabel was so kind and helpful every step of the way. My partner and I decided to go ahead with a small ceremony at home four months later, so I was after something a bit more casual and with sleeves for the cooler weather - the Izzy dress was absolutely perfect and I felt so beautiful and comfortable in it! Thank you Isabel for helping me find TWO dresses that I love xx
