About Greendale Tamatea Scout Group
The Rover section is about determining your own way to develop yourself and those around you with support and encouragement from others. Throughout your time in Rovers you’ll meet some incredible people, participate in, assist with, and lead all sorts of activities, and develop skills for life. You might go on a canyoning trip, lead a personal finance session for your crew, or organise a year long river clean-up project in your local community. The only limit is your imagination.
Every Easter a small team of Rovers runs Moot, our pinnacle National event, where 200+ Rovers from across NZ and the world come together for a weekend of whakawhanaungatanga (community building) and celebration.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Greendale Tamatea Scout Group is impressively organised, with varied and engaging activities on offer for young people. The leaders are genuinely exceptional.
For our young son, belonging to our local Scout Group provides an opportunity to forge friendships beyond his school community. He contributes to a collective effort, outside of a sports team. His creative side is nurtured through craft/construction, problem solving and other interactive activities. He sets goals and works towards earning badges. He learns the value of community service, and of caring for the environment. He has opportunity to attend both traditional camps, as well as other speciality events. He will have opportunities to lead and mentor as he gets older. He stands proudly alongside uniformed services on ANZAC Day.
If you have a son or daughter aged 5-18, then I'd definitely recommend checking out Greendale Tamatea Scout Group.
