★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such beautiful place in winter, surrounded by snow capped mountains. Mirror clear reflection in lakes when weather is blue and calm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came and visit here this summer and to me it is a must-see scenery of canterbury. Once you reach lake heron you will have to travel again for 15-20 min to reach lake emily, lake camp, and lake clearwater which are just so close to each other. It was a fun day trip with my fam and planning to go back here after this winter to see more the beauty of the hills.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderland in central Canterbury. Within the Park there are lots of lakes & mountains that offer a wide range of activities & opportunities. It’s also named as Edora for the Lord of the Rings. There’s a junction where its divided into two destinations one straight to Edora; & the other on right to Lake Heron. Be prepared to spend a whole day at least to explore both destinations. The phones will be out of signal & the whole Park is on gravel roads
