Fabulous scenery along the well-marked trail, with gradual ups & downs, and a few steps en route. The highlight was seeing a group of seals splashing about at The Snout!

Long hike but relatively easy and gentle. If u take ur little ones make sure to bring snacks. The view at the end is BEAUTIFUL!! (can definitely do a nice small picnic there) Well worth the effort and its free hehe

Very much enjoyed this trail. A fair bit of climbing and descending but not steep and the track surface is good in all areas. A fair bit of the route is in the native bush but increasing views around the Sounds as you progress. You can get down to the sea at the end of the walk on a short but steep bit of path - but this does require care and definitely a scramble and not to be taken lightly.

Beautiful walk through bush to a stunning view over the Marlborough Sounds.

I made a last minute decision to see if I could catch the full moon rising. I was rewarded with some incredible views. The walk is long, but the end result is spectacular. Don't miss out.

Absolutely stunning! Magnificent scenery. In terms of top ten instagram photo locations in New Zealand, it has to be right up there. The only problem, there is no tourists. You will have the whole place to yourself. It is off the beaten track / radar. It is approximately 30 minutes vehicle drive from Blenheim to Picton. You can drive through the reserve up to the top of the hill and start your walk from there, parking at the Snout car park. It is a beautiful scenic drive along the hill side with picnic tables etc. You walk 50 minutes to the Snout lookout and can stop there and turnaround. However, you really need to walk another 40 minutes down to The Snout point. Well worth it. The photos / memories will be priceless.
