After countless let downs and horror stories at various 'high end' salons, I finally found a professional place that I can trust completely.
Paul is ruthlessly, yet gracefully honest - a quality I believe to be an absolute necessity in this industry, and life in general, which makes me feel rightfully safe and secure in his hands.
He continuously encourages me to break through my own self created limitations, rising higher than ever before as a result.
In a sense, Paul is a Magician of sorts, using the sacred, ancient art of hair ritual as an avenue to explore, heal, and evolve through. An initiation, a rite of passage, to a more powerful, beautiful, you.
Amy, a Senior Stylist with over 10 years experience in both New Zealand and abroad, is another Sage in the fine art of Hair.
The combination of her authentic, warm nature, and descriptive explanations of the ins and outs of the styling process, really puts the anxiety of change at ease, making the journey one of balanced calm and excitement, trust and adventure.
Amy's energy is none like any other stylist I have come across before. I felt very safe with her, as she sees me as me, with an incredible ability to empathise and Co-create the look that fulfills my needs and desires.
As a team, Paul and Amy work in beautiful synchronicity, at a natural and organic pace, unlike many other salons where it can feel like you are just another object on a conveyer belt.
There is a beautiful tone of 'rising togeather', and a hard to find, genuine judgement free vibe in this top notch, highest of quality salon.
You won't walk out the same person you were as when you walked in;
not just externally, but also internally, transformed and empowered.

β β β β β I had an appointment yesterday with Paul Hala. I asked him several time even on the day of appointment whether he got L'Oreal Inoa colour as I am allergic to other hair colours. He confirmed that he got that brand. I called him before half an hour of my appointment that I might not be on time as it is raining and I don't drive but I am trying my level best to make that appointment. I took half day from my work and spent $25 on my cab to make that appointment. When I reached at salon he advised they have discontinued that brand from today. I don't trust him as how can someone can discontinued brand on same day and even if they did that he should told me beforehand so that my time and money wouldn't be wasted. I work in customer service industry and have never gave such experiences to my customers. He didn't even apologize for that. I would never recommend to anyone.
Such a waste of time and money and pathetic customer service.
Not even 1 star . I prefer giving no star if that would be the option

Paul is a magician with hair!
He always makes me look and feel amazing! I had my hair cut and blown on Wednesday and it still looks amazing and I've had nothing but compliments ?ββοΈ?ββοΈ??
He really gives you that professional experience that I'm more then happy to pay

β β β β β Referred by my mum I haven't looked no further. For a few years I was supporting local and thought that I was happy with the results from my previous stylist. Alas Paul fixed it all. See being of polynesian ethnicity- basically MΔori other stylists were assessing my hair and colouring it incorrectly. Eventually my hair would go orange as I was trying to compliment my greys by getting a light colour thru my hair.
Upon first appointment with Hala Hair, Paul turned my orange into amazing. Haven't had that orange reappear again. Appreciate his honesty because you want to walk around knowing your hair suits you. He does that for my hair and my Δhua. Knows his stuff and travel from Torbay to the city to get the results I'm excited about.
