★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love hangi food but this was very disappointing. The pork dish was a massive section of spinal bone with a tiny amount of bland tasteless boiled meat and hard dumplings. The other dish had a small amount of chicken and stuffing which justified the one star. All the food needed salt to get any flavour. The Kumara was very average. If a blind tasting, I would never have guessed it was hangi. Sorry guys you really need to pick up your game - best of luck

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wanted to try Hangi since I heard about it, very difficult to come by unless you go to a maori experience, which can he pretty expensive, there used to be 2 shops in Auckland, but one closed down without notice, so this is now the only store. The food was fast, the service was good and it was a nice tasty meal, it lived up to its reputation, and although eating it at an experience place may be better! I felt that for the cost of about $NZ20 or £10 it was very much a better deal. Recommended

We also got delicious brisket boil up with Doughboy s, watercress and Rewana Bread.
And to top it off golden syrup steam pudding drowned in cream.
Ka rawe !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been here more than a few times and the Hangi and Boil Up is always on point. The steamed pudding is also very nice. Jonah Lomu has even left a comment n autograph which is framed in the shop so that's all the convincing one may need to eat here. Highly recommended!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Smelt amazing if only the smell was as good as the food itself. Dry bland tasting food, the only savior was the fry bread. Utterly dissatisfied. Chose the lamb and chicken hangi & the pork bone boil up.
Should've stuck with my original decision of island bbq down in Otara. But it is what it is. Iykyk
