β β β β β My friend engaged mr Bate to go to court with an Estate matter. After spending around $15,600 he was finally told that court was not possible because the estate lawyer was dishonest. Also Bate drafted letters to the banks for him to go along and acquire joint bank statements, the bank manager told him that bate had given incorrect instructions and "having him on" because a court order is needed to get joint bank statements and bate would have known that (30+yrs experience!!) No apology or refund for the dishonest parts of his service were given. The authorities accepted that bate had been dishonest but it was under the "allowable" threshold that would result in disciplinary action.
