Excellence in learning
We offer a progressive learning environment and an excellent range of academic pathways. Our Curriculum provides a full range of mainstream core education, alongside a variety of non-traditional subjects. We have developed outstanding capability in the application of new technologies to support the development of 21st Century Learning competencies. Our digital classrooms are constantly evolving as we embrace the latest technologies. Currently this includes excellent collaborative learning opportunities through the use of Google Classroom, and skills extension through the use of drones, programming devices, 3D printing and laser-cutting technologies. Scholarships are available for students who demonstrate outstanding capability in Academic, Arts, Music, Sports or Technology capacities.
Care for students
For new students, we offer an induction programme and well-developed Student Support system. This ensures the transition from intermediate to secondary school is a happy experience. While the first priority is to ensure all students achieve their highest academic potential, we also have excellent programmes in Sports, Music and The Arts, which bring passion to a teenager’s life. With the support of the Henderson High School Foundation, we have developed an attractive physical environment. Community partnerships also provide opportunities on our Campus that inspire students, and open them up to opportunities for the future.

β β β β β its an alright school, there are a few issues with bullying and teachers picking on students, some of the teaching practices also need to be changed to better suit the students, apart from that its okay i guess, the school provides students with an education but there are better schools out there, if possible then don't go here

β β β β β Do not recommend this school for ANY new high schoolers. Teachers bully and pick on students. This school is WELL behind other schools and they do not offer you the best education possible. This school is not a healthy environment to send your kids too...

β β β β β To be honest, i feel like the way the kids were treated was quite unfair. Due to the previous history of henderson high being full of gang members and mischief, the new principal mike purcell has tried to restore the image of the school by getting rid of those who caused the school to bore the name. However, that was ages ago. One of our school rules was no going to the mall. Doing so will land u an after school friday detention. This rule will never make sense to us as it is a place where everything we would need would be attainable to us e.g food, shopping. Also, racism seems to persist in the school. I noticed how when a person that isnt white gets in trouble for e.g having a fight, they get expelled whereas when we had a white boy light up a firework in the school toilet which caused it to smoke up and almost made the building catch a fire, he barely got anything for it. This made the school environment very toxic. The kids they seem to take in r mostly priveleged and were the kind to laugh when the call of prayer in tribute for the muslim victims was played. I know many students who end up leaving. Honestly the ncea passing rates dont matter when your own child doesnt feel safe in the school environment with people mocking stuff that shouldnt be mocked. Ive known people to be mocked for being depressed n suicidal. Trust me on this ur childs mental health is so much more important than the grades they will achieve.

β β β β β OK lets set this straight, This school is actually really good it doesn't matter if its a decile 4 or 5 that does not matter its just how rich people are who go there ? or the income you know, I really like this school the new principal has made great changes and Im pretty sure hes leaving but im sure the new one will be good too, They have really nice facilities like A giant hockey turf tennis courts a swimming pool gymnasium a modern library and nice teachers, Im sure there are some things you dont like but every school has bad and good things i actually moved from green bay which I got bullied And the school did nothing here they have a Councillor, courier councilor and way more ! I think you should send your kids here if you live in west Auckland :)
