The staff were very welcoming which made for a warm and homey atmosphere that got even better once the foood arrived which was ofc delicious!! We will definitely come in again the next time we're in paraparaumu

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not happy at all, this is the 4th week in a row that I've been disappointed in our curries, for 3 weeks in a row I've ordered 1 Medium and 2 Kiwi Hot, both of the Kiwi Hot have been medium, but tonights curries are all mild, the lids say Medium, Kiwi Hot and 1 Indian Hot - which is what I ordered, but they are all mild. Very disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have to share our latest experience of ordering food for pickup from Himalayan Kitchen this evening. Placed order at 5:35pm, while we were on the train from Wellington, with a requested pickup of 6:30pm. Get a response a couple minutes later, that food would be ready for pickup at 6:01pm.
That is not 6:30pm. We're on a train - we cannot travel any faster.
The responses are automated, so you cannot reply either by SMS or email.
Your only option is to phone. The train goes through a long tunnel then through areas with questionable cell coverage.
End result - food is picked up at 6:35pm. Food is not warm as it was prepared for 6:01pm and we could not get through while we were on the train, to ask the kitchen to correct *their* mistake. I have the receipt. The receipt clearly states "Requested for 6:30pm". I did ask the gentleman when picking up the food - was this cooked for 6:30pm? He pointed to that line saying 'requested for: 6:30pm'. Never mind that the big line at the top of the receipt was 'Accepted for: 6:01pm"
Folks, we normally love your food, but this was really poor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious food. Wow. I was in Kapiti for just 2 days and didn’t have a single good vegan meal besides the creamy coconut vegetable curry I ordered here. And trust me I’m picky, but this curry absolutely blew my mind. So creamy, so delicious, generous helpings - I was so full but had to finish the entire meal. It was also gluten free which is such a bonus.
Fantastic vegan options, and friendly staff, the second I’m back in Kapiti I’m visiting here again to try some of the Himalayan options too. 10/10 would recommend!✨

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finally an Indian restaurant in Kapiti that has heaps of flavour! You could smell the amazing aroma as you walked in the door. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavour. The service was excellent! They were friendly and helpful. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. WELL WORTH A VISIT! Yum!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered a takeaway/delivery 19 Feb 22. Our first experience of this restaurant. Was absolutely wonderful. I'd never had the Dry Manchurian before anywhere and it was a revelation. Very flavoursome. Other dishes were also very nice. Good value and prompt delivery. Highly recommended.
