★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the pleasure of staying at Hokonui Lodge in December while we visited family in Gore. Unfortunately we didn’t get to stay long, but we loved our brief stay. Brian and Shona were fantastic hosts and their house was lovely and clean, the location was beautiful and views over the rolling Southland hills were fantastic. Ollie and Sofie enjoyed their stay and Sofie particularly enjoyed playing with the two dogs! We will definitely stay here again when visiting family! Thanks again Shona and Brian! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First the bad. No TV in the rooms. When we were there the water had been polluted by the fires in Australia and was horrible. Later I learnt it should have been dumped as it's not safe. Apart from these 2 things the place is great. Hosts very welcoming. The hosts are fantastic and the view out the front is just as it's shown in the pictures

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hosts absolutely fantastic room , but it's the view thats really the winner in a peaceful location. Lovely breakfast and lovely tips on where to visit, Mayglen gardens were awesome. Would highly recommend staying here.
