★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff are super friendly (especially Kheira and Jonn) and the food is delicious. It's definitely not like other restaurants, you enjoy fishing and eating of what you have caught. Thank you guys for such a wonderful experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location and friendly staff. Cool idea of being able to fish for a salmon that they then prepare for you to eat or take away. We didn't do this option, but it looked like the people who were, were having a great time! :). The meal was pretty tasty, and their pizza was pretty good too. Hook is worth a visit weather you live here or visiting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing! caught 2 salmon, took us just over 3 hours but was extremely relaxing and super helpful staff! cooked and served to us within half an hour! if you're going don't do what we did and forget sunscreen as we are extremely burnt. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I honestly hands down the best activity and fun when I was in Wanaka. Mark is very friendly and helpful to us, explaining about the fishing. It’s fairly easy to fish as we spend probably only. 15 mins to catch 3 fishes. We haven’t even finish our chips yet. Lol. You can have your fish cooked right away. we had ours sashimi for $20, hot smoke for $10 (best tasting! so good!) and the rest we fillet to bring home(free fillet) fish price is only $28/kg which is very fair price. You just need to hire the rod for $7. It was the best laugh we had cause we have absolutely zero skill in fishing ? but still managed to fish some.
Apart from that, the margherita pizza is amazing too!
I can’t recommend enough of this place. Sure be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had an awesome time fishing and enjoying the sun. We caught 4 good size salmon! We stayed and enjoyed a drink whilst they smoked it... Sooooo good!! Great place to take the family.

Not a lot of fishing skills required to fish here.
Phone never get picked up
Lake is full of fish.
Pricing is a little bit too expensive
Although smoked salmon was great but sashimi was a disaster
A little disappointed with the staff cooking ability.
Sashimi left under hot air temperature for too long
Fish fillet wasn’t cut very well and left too long outside. Temperature control wasn’t great in sashimi.
Suggest to train the staff to enhance their cooking ability

Beautiful environment, great equipment and the cafe was amazing from the friendly, upbeat staff to the speed of the smoke. Thanks for providing wee picnic blankets too though a little more shade about the pond would be much appreciated when your bloke won't give up fishing ??
