I have recently experienced this first hand, with respect, dignity, sensitivity, in the most caring way possible, when I was honored, to officiate at a close family friends celebration of ones life. Without hesitation the family reached out to Hope Family Funerals in Tauranga, I had the absolute privilege of meeting Robert (Rob) Barclay, who in my opinion demonstrated the true value of what it means to serve. Serve in a way that words cannot express the boundlessness of his heart, and how he shares this with you when you most need it. Having worked with many, I found Rob Barclay second to none, If there is a book to be written on humanity Rob would be lead in every chapter. I am forever grateful, to have met the man!, though gratitude seems a little insignificant a word for a great man such as Rob Barclay - You are truly a greater gift! To all the team at Hope Family Funerals - No words can really express my heartfelt thanks and how your inclusiveness of me, the family and friends helped so so much. More than you can ever know.

The venue at Charlemagne House was glorious, the food was really lovely and Kathy and the team made it all so easy for us. We are extremely grateful.

They were caring and empathetic and nothing was never too much trouble, even when putting the slide show together!!
We can't thank the team enough for a truly special service for Dad.

Nothing was too much trouble and this made a very difficult experience much easier. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ With the recent and sudden passing of my father due to Covid, we found ourselves for the first time in the position to need the services of a Funeral Director.
We're so extremely grateful that we reached out to Dean Hughes, at Hope Family Funeral Services. From the moment we first contacted Dean, he was attentive, compassionate, and respectful.
The instant we walked into the Funeral Home, we were put at ease with the homely, relaxed and tranquil setting. All the team were welcoming and friendly, with no request being an issue.
What we initially thought would be an extremely daunting journey, wasn't due to Dean's geninue care, guidance and constant support.
We will always be grateful for Dean providing Dad with care and respect, and walking this journey with us, providing his unconditional support along the way.

All you have done for Dad (the care that was taken looking after him) and us over the last week was just incredible and you have made a difficult time just a little easier by being so calm, accommodating and caring.
Charlemagne Lodge was the perfect place to farewell dad and to have the option to be able to then stay a little longer was invaluable.

As sad as the experience is saying farewell to a loved one Kathy Sleep (our funeral director) went over and above to make the day memorable for all the right reasons. Despite the handicap of Covid restrictions Kathy’s care and attention to detail meant that everyone got to pay their respects. Charlemagne Lodge was the perfect venue and Marti the celebrant presented the service with tact and compassion. On behalf of our family ‘Thank You’ Kathy for being our rock and support and for guiding us during this difficult time. We could not recommend your services highly enough.
