I was travelling from Melbourne Australia and my cousin took me to hope river for the donuts ( definitely recommend) but omg the pies are to die for. i have the cheese and mince and it was so amazing. it came out the perfect temperature and it was amazing to eat! lovely customer service and 100% would go back again. THANK YOU

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious! I've had three (savoury) pies now and they've all been great. The latest was a beef cheek, red wine, and mustard seed, and I honestly think it's the best meat pie I've ever had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The bolognese pie is a favourite, and the corn beef and mustard mash is bloody good too. Grabbing chips from the place next door and some pies is a favourite lunch. Don't tell my doctor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really quite average pies for there price. We got 3(one each) today from the lyttelton market and all feel decidedly average after them. Pasty wasn't cooked properly and mine (mince and very little cheese) was mostly cold, only warming around the edges. Ate 1/2 and threw the rest away as did my son with the vegan pie.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not only were the pies phenomenal but the true highlight was the incredibly friendly and charismatic woman who took our order. Such an angel! Would also recommend the banana bread to anyone passing by, so delicious!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was finding a parking place in the town. It was nearly lunchtime. After parking when I look outside I saw a small display board near the pathway. We bought two pies from there, when we had eaten their pies - they were amazing. A nice lady treated me very well and explained about the special tasty pies.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great pies with unique flavours. At around $7ea I was expecting a lot and they delivered. The Venison, Mushrooms, and Bacon was delicious without any dodgy bits of meat and the best pastry I've had in ages. The lamb and kumara was so tender, and the kids loved the mince one. Also great was the service that was enthusiastic, polite and so very friendly. She even suggested to cut the kids one in half instead of expecting us to buy two. It's that kind of thing that loses them $7 now, but will get a lot more in the future.
