Yes, was the positive response and I got an appointment for Wednesday. “he’ll ring if he has any questions “ was the very friendly response. I was really pleased, I have grown my long lank hair and really wanted some curl. Yes, I know it’s not in fashion but anything goes these days and I was really looking forward to having it done. Wednesday I went in and the first question was, have you had a perm before, “Dozens, over the last 50 years”. It became apparent very quickly that Damien didn’t want to perm my hair! “ I will perm it” “But you don’t want to.” “All you need is a good cut and shape”. God bless well intentioned if not slightly arrogant hairdresser! I wish I had left then. But stupidly I decided to let him cut my hair. The only stipulation as I must be able to tie it up. I didn’t qualify it but I have chooks to clean up after, I am into potting and cook a lot. I can just tie my hair up, but it falls out around my face constantly, very annoying especially if you are cleaning out the chickens or have clay all over your hands! So if you don’t know what style you want, Damien is the hairdresser for you. But I am very annoyed with myself for not leaving when I could tie my hair up and perhaps find a hairdressers who accepts sometimes customers actually want what they asked for. It will be months before my hair is long enough again for the style I wanted.
