★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful, quiet and spacious gardens. Lovely river flowing through, lots of parking, beautiful daffodils in the spring. Leads straight out onto Ilam Fields. Lots of ducks. Absolutely gorgeous landscaping. Great place for a picnic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place for a wedding. We were at one today. The gorgeous old building in its park like grounds is magnificent. The staff in the bar were lovely and very friendly. Small lake and lots of trees make a great setting for an occasion such as this.
Go and have a look if you are looking for a venue. Beautiful!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful gardens located opposite university of Canterbury UCSA parking lot. On bus route and parking available near the restaurant. Small tracks inside the gardens with bridges and lawns, a rugby field hidden at the back of the house. Great for picnic or quick stroll, easy access for pram and wheelchair.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am Gardens are the rather charming setting for the Ilam Homestead and part of the park-like campus of Canterbury University. Great for recalibrating with green plants, water sounds and well oxygenated air. My favourite lunch time walk.
