★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We recommend taking a cautious approach if designing a house with this company. In our experience they did not follow their own design process as advertised on their website. We ended our contract with them due to poor communication, lack of updates and failure to complete the design prior to moving onto pricing. Because of this we were taken to the Disputes Tribunal for full payment of the concept plan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately we had a poor experience with this business. We signed a contract with them to design a house for us late last year. Despite discussing one initially, we did not specify a budget in the design brief as we wanted the design to take precedence. We believed it would be our choice as the customer to increase our budget if the house priced up too high. We did however specify a desired square meterage. Their website stated that during the design process that they will not proceed to the next step of your project “unless you’re 100% in love with what we have produced”.
This was not the case with us as they stopped work on designing the house to start pricing it before basic elements such as cladding, floor levels and square meterage were agreed and finalised. Along with what we believe to have been below standard communication and being asked to wait for weeks part-way through a design process to price up an incomplete plan (the pricing was not completed), we cancelled the contract. In subsequent communications with the company - that demanded almost full payment - we believe there were no attempts made to see why the issues above might compel a Customer to cancel a contract.
We had to find another designer to begin from scratch which we did. We received a complete set of drawings through a collaborative process where we WERE 100% in control of signing off the final design prior to the pricing exercise. Given our similar experience with designing an earlier house, this is how we would expect things to go.
