β β β β β I have had many variations on Butter Chicken around the world and didn't really like it. It was too sweet, and the meat was mostly dark pieces when it is usually breast meat. The garlic naan wasn't naan, it was essentially a large roti as could taste atta flour like in roti. While the lady was nice and also Indian, I just didn't care for it.

β β β β β I live near Whakatane and often get Indian takeaways from a Rotorua central restaurant. Tonight I was told to try J&D Indian at the Ngapuna shops. It was very good. There was a lot of meat. The price was excellent... $40 for 3 meals and 2 naan. It would have been been $65-$70 in town. And, it had easier parking. Feel happy we tried it.

β β β β β For the 18 odd years I've been going here, the quality of food and service has been consistently good. Although the owner has recently made efforts to improve the customer experience in the shop, the shop has always served it's practical purpose. Of which loyal customers like myself I'm sure are appreciative of.

β β β β β I can not say enough about the high quality of service and delicious food that J & D Indian restaurant has to offer. I have enjoyed their excellent customer service and mouth watering dishes for over 10 years and will continue to for another 10 plus! Although I have moved from Rotorua to another city, I recently stopped in to buy one of my favorite's on the menu, the smooth rich creamy butter chicken... and was extremely satisfied! If you... are wanting to enjoy a variety of their tantalizing dishes, I highly recommend J & D Indian Food!
