★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After Alex saw my puppy who had a skin condition for months he kept insisting it was a food alergy and trying to sell me expensive dog food while her condition continued to deteriorate and he did not suggest or test for anything else even after her fur fell out in patches all over her body!! After becoming frustrated and searching on google it was obvious from the photos I saw that she had ringworm!! Because it was all over her body and her beautiful face by then the cost to treat it is now hundreds of dollars. After 5 days of antifungal treatment her skin is about 50% healed. I am disgusted that my dog suffered for months because alex could not recognize the sight or symptoms of such an obvious condition!! If my dog ends up with scars I will be going to the vets onwardsman board to make a complaint of incompetence causing severe harm!!!
Do not go to this vet unless all you want are vaccinations. They are not competent at diagnosing or treating a basic condition like ringworm!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First class service from enquiry to visit. I contacted Valley Cottage as I couldn’t get my dog a appointment with my existing vets for another 4 days which couldn’t wait. Both the Receptionist and Veterinary made the visit so relaxing for my 1year old boy who is a wee bit anxious going to the vets. Thank you Team !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We decided to register our new dog with Valley Cottage Vets after using another well-known clinic in the Hutt for our 14 year old boy and getting care and service, specifically in his last couple of years, which we considered poor for a clinic with an otherwise stellar reputation locally. We also had a new rescue cat registered with the Valley Cottage team for three months, but unfortunately he escaped onto a busy road and sadly, that was his innings brought to a close. Even so, our experiences with both our dearly departed rescue and now our new dog have been superb. Getting a convenient appointment slot has always been easy and quicker than what we've found elsewhere, the vets are proactive, thorough and everyone in this place has a way of putting you and your pets at ease. And all at super reasonable rates too! We've sought out word-of-mouth recommendations, researched online reviews and have generally put a myriad of time, discussion, thought and effort into choosing our next vet, especially after feeling completely let down by our previous (and much-loved) dog's vet! If coming here didn't feel right, we wouldn't hesitate to look elsewhere, but I can honestly say that in our experience thus far, every interaction we've had with Valley Cottage has been positive, professional and I have no doubt that this clinic will do their very best for our newest fur family member, brilliant work team!
