The final of the Men’s Champ Fours were played on Saturday afternoon. As would be expected, some great bowls were played in close-to-perfect conditions.
The game saw Gareth Evan’s Four, with Steve Scoones, Terry Dean and Dave Carr, take on Bruce Henderson (s), Grant Wakefield, Isi Taito and Rob Veale. The turning point of this game was the 11th end. At that point Gareth’s team was 7-10 down but they then held on to the mat for the remainder of the game, except for one end, to win 21-11.
Gareth recorded his 3rd club title. In Gareth’s four, Terry Dean, a 1st year bowler, replaced Bruce Miller, who was unable to play because of injury.
