★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We took the 9am fishing charter with Kaikoura Fishing Tours on Sunday. We had an absolute blast! Tomo (the business owner) and Shane (crew) were fantastic. Professional and super friendly! Both worked really hard to ensure everyone was looked after and having the best possible experience. After a safety briefing it was off to the first of two crayfish pots. Fascinating to learn all about crayfish and we all got a live one to take home. Yum ! Next stop, deep water (100m) and out with the sea anchor. There was a mild rolling swell so don’t forget your sealegs or scopoderm if you’re prone to motion sickness! The fishing was great – an abundance of perch, blue cod and the occasional tarikihi. Shane filleted everything at lightning speed. To add to the fun, we were visited by a number of Dusky dolphins and a wide variety of bird life including several species of the amazing Albatross family. After a great 3 hour trip we returned to shore and were presented with massive bags of filleted fish from our catch. Highly recommended to novices and seasoned fishermen alike. Great value for money. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an awesome time out fishing today. 10 of us on board and fishing today ( 3 groups) and we all came home with a bag of perch, a bag of cod and a cray! I know!! And lots of fun fishing for it. Really great guys. Really helpful. Nothing was so much trouble...even the tangles! ? Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My fiancé and I did the 3 hour trip today and couldn’t have had a better time. Both Tomo and Shane were fantastic and always happy to help us out/share their abundance of knowledge. Was also a bonus getting to take home a couple of Crays and a heap of filleted fish that we had caught. Easily 5/5 and can’t wait to book our next trip with them!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly highly recommended! Awesome guys looking after you on the trip, got to see dolphins on the way back in , came away with a solid feed of both cod and orange roughy and a couple of crays, will definitely be going out with them again, an amazing afternoon and great value for money

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great tour! The owners were so friendly and flexible, really effective communication make sure we got on board and had the best time possible. Tommo and Shane were the Captain and skipper, they looked after us so well. They were friendly and chatty, they made sure we had a fun day out but most importantly they made sure we caught a huge pile of fish and cray. We walked away with 2 kg of cod and perch and 1 cray each. Amazing experience A++++

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a really good experience! We caught perch, bluecod and sharks! Also we got one crayfish per person :)!! The crew are really friendly and help with everything! It was super worth it! Will join this tour again next time. Thanks for having us, Tomo! -The pictures are crayfish sashimi and steamed blue code we cooked ;)
