I had an accident . I call them and try to book an appointment. But they give me so many excuses and told to book appointment in Westgate . Every time they said they have shortage of doctors and very rude every time.

Often under staffed. Inexperienced Doctors. Wrong or no diagnosis. Occasionally you get a good Doctor. Nurses are good. Receptionists are good.

As a chronically ill woman living alone in central Helensville for the past 5 years, I have had to ask the people and businesses around me for a little extra help on occasion; mainly when I am unable to drive or even walk due to pain and medications. Sometimes I get a great response and people and businesses do help, often the business or service I'm asking for help will not help me even in an urgent or emergency situation because my request might require thinking outside the square or even going against company policy. A simple thing that could be done quickly and easily and which they could benefit from by charging me more is often declined - it Could be done, but it Won't be done. As well as having a chronic pain disease I am also suffering from an acute condition right now that has caused my legs to blow up to twice their normal size accompanied by multiple painful swellings from my feet to my hips - I need to see a doctor. Yesterday I tried to book an appointment for tonight at Kaipara Medical Centre, the receptionist confirmed that they did have appointments available and these were reserved for acutely unwell patients. She told me the times and that I needed to call back today at 5pm to secure an appointment....that's assuming I was a Registered Patient with KMC of course?????? No, actually I'm not registered anywhere, I don't have a GP only a Pain Specialist who is away this week....what I am is an acutely unwell member of Helensville's community who only lives 1 street away from the clinic, who needs to be seen by a doctor and can't currently drive as far as Westgate. I have also been seen at Kaipara Medical Centre several times in the past 5 years and paid the highest casual rates each time; they have chosen not to enrol me previously because I do not have medical notes. After speaking to a nurse and describing my symptoms, she agreed that I did need to be seen urgently by a doctor but even though they had appointments available and Could see me they Wouldn't see me because 'I'm Only a Casual and they weren't looking to take on any more casual patients'. She said this was according to their policies and procedures, and even after I said I would be happy to pay exorbitant after hours rates if necessary for 15 minutes of a doctors time, she agreed that on principle they would not see me and that their policy was more important than the health of someone in their local community. So, they won't register me and have said I need to stay a Casual patient, but now that I urgently need some medical help which they have the time and services to provide, they won't even let me pay through the nose for a 15 minute appointment Because I am only a Casual patient. I have reasons for not wanting to go to a hospital, I am unable to drive to an after hours clinic, I live a minute away from a practice with 6 doctors and I am given a lower priority here in Helensville than animals. I have had need of emergency after hours vet services 3 times this year, and because our local vets no longer provide that service for small animals, I have had to persuade vets from North and West Auckland to come out and attend my pets in my home, which they have eventually done. Yet I can't get this same sort of service for myself; a sick person, so obviously the urgent medical needs of the people in Helensville are not taken as seriously as those of our pets? Seriously, where did our community spirit go, our social conscience or even just the concept of doing the right thing and helping someone in the community because you Can? I could die in this bed because a doctor's surgery was more concerned with policy and procedure and they consider me some sort of dirty mongrel Casual because I'm not Registered! Appaling and you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Awesome nurse and doctors. Although super busy (wich understanding with amount of regular patients and being the only doctors in that area) they have always been very understanding and helpful where possible. Prices cater very well to those that cannot afford the higher consultation fees of $35 upwards. Good services!

Had very bad service from the receptionist. I called up first thing in the morning to check the enrollment form I emailed had come through, and to organize an appointment. She told me the servers were down and she would get back to me which she never did. Stopped in to the clinic to check what was going on and no one had a clue. Called her the next morning and she didn't remember the conversation. Appalling service. She did say she could book an appointment without the enrollment for $80...
