Absolutely fantastic cafe!, with amazing food, fantastic customer service, and a gorgeous maori girl with long black hair that was our waitress ? all in all highly impressed

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunate condescending encounter with one of the nurses over the phone. Uncalled for . Always enjoyed the service recieved at top health (always) but this one rude encounter made me switch my mind =(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited A & E, poor receptionist, lacking PR skills and experience to check patients safety. Called into the hospital after exhaustively searching for a doctor who was open to check a hand infection which was a potential blood poisoning issue as well we had to get a 4 year olds ear checked. The 4 year old had to been seen again a couple of days further on due to the ear problems (again couldn't find a doctor due to the public holidays) they waited 3 hours and had to leave being unseen and fortunately managed to find a doctor the next day who saw them quickly and saved another long trip. We were staying in Karikari peninsula and had to travel 40 minutes one way to Kaitaia Hospital. The limited quality of care provided by Kaitaia Hospital really needs to be urgently looked into. We feel it's not safe to get sick In Northland and sadly this should never happen. I hope other patients living outside the area are better treated and cared for as this reflects your commumity. Jeff

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The image of shiny halls and corridors and friendly staff of the Kaitaia Hospital, unfortunately, do not make up for the overflowing rubbish receptacle at the front entrance or the empty hand gel pump bottles that greeted patients and visitors to the hospital this weekend. Whether this is what its always like or if it is a one-off, it is not acceptable that this is to be found when first entering the establishment.
Speak up Kaitaia because this is an impression that visitors to your hospital will take away with them!!!

My experience is with Day Surgery and the care received was great.
Each professional took a lot of time to explain what was happening before and after the procedure and the specialist was super qualified.
Everyone I encountered was kind.I was pretty hesitant about having to go all the way to Kaitaia as my local would normally be Whangarei but I'd happily do it again as there you most likely get a specialist rather than a technician.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would just like to thank the team in day surgery on their professional services. I had a colonoscopy performed by Dr Jason Hill and after an experience 20 years ago was terrified to have this procedure. It was a breeze Dr Hill spoke and showed me the examination was so very gentle and caring I cannot praise him enough, look forward to seeing him again in 5 years. Kaitaia Hospital is doing an amazing job. Please keep day surgery up here in the Far North.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This has to have been the best experience I’ve ever had in a hospital. The doctors and nurses were fantastic and friendly. They took the time to explain what was going on. Nothing was rushed and you were respected as a human being. It’s very whanau orientated which I was super impressed with. Having been a patient in Auckland Hospital, it’s definitely better to be looked after here.
