About Kauri Bay Boomrock
Ollie ran operations in luxury hotels around the world including The Savoy London, The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui and Raffles Praslin Seychelles where he did everything from organising day to day operations to hosting many international ‘A’ listers (you might be able to get some info out of him!)
After 12 years abroad, he returned home to branch out the family business and launch Boomrock in Auckland. Combining his overseas experience in meticulous attention to detail and exceptional service with our local NZ charm has given Kauri Bay Boomrock the advantage with an unparalleled hospitality offering.
Ollie’s passion is thinking outside the box and creating unique out of the ordinary experiences.

Superb food and fantastic friendly service.
Just needs better signage at the road in advance of the main entrance so you don't shoot past the first time you visit

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My best friend recently got married here and the ground and staff were phenomenal. Craig, in particular, was undoubtedly ready to look after our group. To provide example, my wife said to me "I don't think I have enough drink to finish these speeches" and without being within earshot range, Craig was there with another drink before we xould ask. Incredible venue, incredible views, incredible food. 10/10

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful wedding venue overlooking the sea! Delicious food and a gorgeous atmosphere for a wedding! We loved attending our friend's beautiful wedding!
You do have to take their bus to get to and from the venue rather than using your own transport and we were seated on a bench which was hard to get in and out of in a long dress.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited a lot of venues in the Auckland region and it wasn’t until my partner flew over Kawakawa Bay that we realised there was a venue out East we hadn’t yet seen. We booked a visit with Amanda back in May 2019 and as we drove up and saw the view and the venue we were both sold! The venue has an amazing framework for you to set up the wedding of your dreams. The food is outstanding and the staff is amazing! I dealt with Ollie and Danica quite a bit in 2020 and 2021 with the postponement and they were excellent to work with and made us feel at ease at all times.
As amazing as the venue and layout is, the food out here is outstanding! They do annual tastings for new menus the following year and if you’ve booked in with these guys I would recommend going to that event for tastings of the new menu! We loved it. You can choose between buffet style or set menus. We went with the set menu option, and we chose the following:
Canapes:
- Parmesan custard, prosciutto, brioche
- Seared venison, date puree, juniper salt
- Clevedon Oysters, natural & merlot mignonette
- Buttermilk, popcorn chicken, chipotle aioli
Entree:
- Canter Valley Duck Breast w pickled prune, fennel and savoy cabbage
Mains:
- Aged Grass Fed Eye Fillet w smoked parsnip, mushroom, sherry vinegar and pinot jus or;
- Hawkes Bay Organic Chicken w pork culatello, lemon butter and rosemary
Dessert: Wedding cake served as dessert with petit fours
The event manager will send you a list of options which makes it easy for you as a couple to make it personalised.
They arrange coaches for your guests and you can decide on pick up and drop off! Such a seamless experience.
