★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are a buyer at Kauri House Auctions then PLEASE be careful.
We think that we may have fallen victim to bid rigging by the Auctioneer. When we queried our concerns with the woman in the back of Kauri House Auctions we were yelled at - she was not transparent - she was not accountable - i.e. there was no valid explanation provided - she tried very hard to deflect our concerns. So we followed up with a well known auctioneers in Wellington. We showed them our documentation and the nature of the bidding process - they agreed that we had likely been the victim of bid rigging - this is not standard practice. We contacted the registering body of Auctioneers - and now we are considering laying a complaint with consumerprotection.govt.nz.
