★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful location close to Matamata and Hobbiton, with gorgeous views of the farmland. The hosts of the studio suite, Alan and Beryl, were delightful and treat you as family. My wife and I had drinks with them, and were invited on a tour of the farm before we had to head to our next destination.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ this was the best accommodation I could have had was a house on a farm. I got in touch with the owner at 10 o'clock at night and she was super cool with me and picked us up super well when we woke up we had a wonderful view with horses cows many animals dogs. In the morning she invited us to meet the animals. it was amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ New owners put effort into making our stay comfortable. Rooms were furnished well, beds comfortable and clean. Kitchen had everything you need to cook a quick meal. Close to Hobbiton set and a short drive into Cambridge for a bite to eat. Quaint little place to stay. Wishing Shona and David successful ventures!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great place to stay and experience rural living in one of the prettiest parts of New Zealand. Libby and Jim are wonderful. The accommodation is well set up with everything you need and more. We had a lovely night out on the patio having a BBQ and in the morning got to meet Tully, Dante and Jess, as well as Clover the cow. Of course we can't forget the dogs Carrie, Bazil, Tess and Wiggie.

Both Jim and Libby were very hospitable and friendly, the accommodation is comfortable and provides great views of the rolling hills and farmland, not forgetting the adorable dogs, cats, horses, and cows! The location is also convenient for tourists looking to visit Hobbiton. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our family absolutely loved our visit to Kauri lodge.
On our first ever trip to NZ our farm stay was just what we needed to break up all our driving.
Libby and Jim were amazing offering food, drinks and anything we needed.
Our children haven’t stopped talking about all the animals remembering the names of them all.
The girls were stoked to have two of the cows named Zoe and Ella after them.
The ride on Tuscany made their day.
The cottage and views were breathtaking and we wished we could have stayed longer.
Thankyou for making our trip so memorable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved the place so much. The view is amazing. Libby and Jim is very friendly. We loved the dogs, horse ride etc. Eggs, butter, bread, milk, orange juice is provided. Plenty of kitchen utensils to cook our own dinner. Cambridge town is a short drive away. A short drive away to Hobbiton is a big plus too.
