★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thoroughly enjoyed my time out Kawakawa bay. Went to get some empty shells and rocks for the garden decor as well as some drift wood.
Highly recommend for a stroll or even a picnic on a nice day

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time taking my kids to a beach in auckland and it was great, we parked just at the beginning of Kawakawa Bay below the hill, heaps of space, no sea lice. Had heaps of fun

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We usually come here when we are hungry for Pipi's (cockles). Other than that I would not swim here unless the tides right in and it's only for a short time, as there are heaps of shells. I have learnt from experience not to swim here when the tides going out cause the walk back is going to leave you with cut feet!! Beautiful beach n views though

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Too shallow, can't be compared to nearby Waitawa Regional Park Public Beach.
Was closed the last summer to the overflow pollution

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s a beautiful, wide open & tranquil shelly beach. It’s just a walking distance from a small park & a boat ramp. It’s also a short drive from Waitawa Regional Park, & a gateway to Tapapakanga Regional Park & Firth of Thames. Be ware of fishing boats & traffic when you visit the spot on weekends or holidays

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great beach to visit! The driving experience added more beauty with the curves. Plenty of roadside spaces to park. The beach is not that crowded and is really beautiful. If you are looking for shops, there are few nearby as well.
The beach is pretty long and saw few people even take a swim. And for the same, this beach is highly recommended. If you travel up further, there is a beautiful look out point as well.
