I was a resident of Kirkwood Ave Hall and the accommodation services there were terrible. A friend of mine there sent in multiple maintenance requests for a moisture problem in her room. Finally after nearly 2 months she was approached by a manger and the maintenance man who both spoke to her in a very rude way, basically saying that it's condensation and any damages from the condensation will be charged to her. They suggested the idea of keeping the windows open, IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. Finally one of the friendly residential assistants with some clout in the CLV hierarchy managed to get a dehumidifier for the room. Her room was entered multiple times unannounced by the maintenance man while she was away. Many of the residents there were overcharged for their accommodation and had to seek a refund. The ensuites were set on a "first in first served" basis, however nearly all of the people in the ensuites have claimed that they either didn't ask for an ensuite or signed up well after the close date for room applications. My friend applied for an ensuite room as soon as the applications opened and did not get one. On top of this, there is a huge discrepancy in the room sizes. Some of the rooms are about 3 times as large as the smallest rooms. They are given out at random and all cost the same. This is not a fair deal. The drawers in my room were all broken and would not slide. Black mould grew in my windowsill despite the fact I barely ever spent time in my room for any condensation to occur. At one point, two of the three showers that were shared between nearly 40 people were out of order and unusable. The parking outside the hall is non transferable. There was a resident that left who had purchased a parking spot. When enquiring about purchasing the now empty spot we were told that the spot could not be transferred and that it would have to remain empty. I left KAH on the 23rd of November. It is now the 21st of January and I am yet to get my $300 bond back, I was told today it will be another 2 weeks before I receive my bond. The practices of CLV and their management of their residents should honestly be illegal because they are so terrible. I advise anyone thinking of moving in to a CLV managed hall of residence or apartment to think again as I could not regard their services any worse.

I made so many lovely lifelong friends here, there were great RA’s and great office staff we love Michelle ❤️ But when it comes to Tony, this man would not kick out residences who were legally in the wrong, these things were not taken to the proper authorities and those responsible were let off with only warnings… - from an affected 2021 resident
