★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved getting my full head of dreads done by Knotty Knots. Was easily the most relaxed yet professional dreadlocking experience I have had so far. She is very knowledgeable about what she does and explains in a way that is clear and makes us feel at ease with entrusting our dread work to her. The method she uses leaves tight even dreads that already look quite mature after completion and it does not reduce hair length to the extent that most other styles of dreadlocking do. She is very switched on when it comes to the layering and dividing of the hair in preparation before the dreading begins. I found out the hard way that I am one of the unfortunate creatine users that through the use of creatine hair loss becomes an issue. I lost approximately half of my hair. She helped me devise a plan so that my hair could have extensions weaved in from the base to the tip so that when my hair grew back in after cessation of creatine the dreads would look even. We ended up deciding against this and went for some colouring along a few dreads instead but I think this is still a good example of her willingness to think outside of the box and adapt to her client! Also relative to other “lockticians” in the area her prices are very good. 10/10 when I’m back in Christchurch I will be going to Knotty Knots for my future maintenance jobs. Also her dog is awesome ?. Thank you for the awesome job you did :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maggie is a total pro who clearly loves her work. She attacks your frizz swiftly and isn't satisfied until every stray strand had been vanquished. Entropy is no match for her crochet hook!
As of writing this, she'll tell you she's just starting out but her perfectionism shows in the results and I couldn't be happier with my toight locs; absolutely the best maintenance job I've had done in my 12-year dread odyssey.
A very pleasant session full of quality banter.
Would recommend.
