★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a lovely beach with nice grassy bank between it and the adjacent road. So there is some traffic noise when occupying the grassed area. The beach is good for swimming but only close to high tide.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely spot for a walk or if you'd like to sit on a bench and complain to someone about your life. Great view of rangitoto and many like to swim there. I personally don't swim in city beaches due to them being so close to reclaimed land but if that's your thing then go for it. Also they have so many issues with the locals shoving tree roots and wet wipes down the loo, hence blockages leading to exceptionally low water quality. Be sure to check the water safety rating on the day. Grab a lovely gelato from st heliers or missing bay to enjoy by the beach and make sure to take your rubbish home with you. Xo
