★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect beach to take your dogs for a walk. This is an approved off the leash dog walking area. There's a parking lot off the road; and always a spot available. The beach is a 1-2min walk from the carpark, so dogs won't easily run off beach and onto road. It's a long stretch of beach, so you often get a couple dog walkers on either end and dogs off leashes aren't fussed with each other. My dogs love swimming in the water. The water usually has very small swells to smooth surface.
There's also a community bbq available under a pergola; a public toilet available 24/7; and a beautiful view. It's not really the best beach to swim in, and you certainly need to check the tides before visiting it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the sunsets here! Clean area for a picnic or just to relax and take in the views of the Hauraki gulf. Best summer spot when you cant be bothered to drive out along the coast to the beach for a picnic (not sure about swimming here though). Close to Thames township (less than 5mins)
