I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki Bento -
Because I don't eat seafood & I'm allergic to shellfish, and this seems to have made him angry,
I cancelled the order & ordered Indian instead ....
(then he must've decided he wanted the money anyway and sent it)... have a look at the response I got.
YOUR RESPONSE IS A TOTAL LIE, I CANCELLED THE ORDER.
THANKS FOR SHOWING YOUR CUSTOMERS WHO YOU REALLY ARE - TWICE NOW - PATHETIC

"1. We used an ingredient called Hon-Dashi, this is a fish stock made from Bonito flakes. 90% of JAPANESE FOOD, not just our food contains Hon-dashi or another form of hondashi. 2. You specified NO SEAFOOD. there was NO SEAFOOD in your order but a fish based stock. Some people are allergic to shellfish, we called to make sure you were ok with fish stock which you replied with YES! 3 After confirming with you we proceeded with the order. You gave us an unfair review because and then when we called to make sure you blamed us for sending the food out after you said you were ok. Rude and ignorant."
If you'd like your food without getting harrassed TWICE by the owner, I'd recommend trying somewhere more pleasant. Or at least call ahead and make sure he's not serving.
Rude is the contact I had with this guy twice, ignorant is thinking 90% of food has hondashi in it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really love this place! Extremely friendly service and a nice range of bento to choose from. I tried the chicken teriyaki and it was extremely delicious. I like how they have the mini-sized option for people with a small appetite. Can't wait to try out the other menus too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a Japanese Bento and Salad Feast. Agedashi Tofu Bento, Chicken Karaage Bento Chicken Namban Bento and a range of salads. All delicious and great value. Having lived in Japan, we know a good Bento when we see it ??
Would love to see compostable packaging used in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely recommend. Really high quality bento that's tastes more authentic than a lot of Japanese restaurants in nz. There's also a lot of extra sides you can order, like perfectly cooked gooey eggs, honestly you could have a great meal just with the sides.
If you know the feeling of picking up a bento at a train station in Tokyo, run, don't walk, to Kurozen Bento.
