★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden gem, off the beaten track, a bit of an effort to get to, be careful of a northerly headwind on the way home.. Good bike ride or combo but too far to walk to from Burdens Gate, hired electric bikes would be a good option to get there, then walk the round the lake track, great views, but could be lonely if on your own, best to go with a partner, family or group, definitely take the time to walk up to the lighthouse and watch the ferries passing by!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great winding track. An easy walk with sweeping views across the Parangarahu Lakes and their wetlands. I went on a sunny Sunday and the track was deserted; this appears to be a well-kept secret.
