★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There isn't often an occasion where I have struggled to find words for how incredible a place is. Lakestone Lodge is an experience of itself where such care has been taken to seamlessly transition the beauty of the Mackenzie Country into the comfort of the lodge. The lodge has been built to withstand the often harsh conditions of the high country, while facing down Lake Pukaki towards the Face of Aoraki/Mount Cook.
The view over the lake to the alps is one that has to be seen in person to appreciate to it's full extent, best enjoyed paired with any of the following:

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As we drove along I thought "How lucky are the people who live there", what a treat to discover it was our Lodge for the next 3 nights. Stunning views, luxurious room, friendly staff and amazing meals beautifully presented. Even more impressive is its"off grid". The night sky tour was excellent too. It is a great location for an explore of the area with so much to see and beautiful bike rides.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at Lakestone for our honeymoon, it was the perfect way to start our new life. We had to postpone a couple of times due to Covid and Lakestone were very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay, the staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you, the setting is beautiful and relaxing. We would recommend the star gazing experience and the food which was incredible.

Stephan the chef, did a really good job preparing a very tasty 3 course meal and madea special effort to cater for my wife who is on a keto diet. Idyllic location, and a very quiet location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an amazing time and spend two days at the lodge to celebrate our wedding at the lodge as part of their elopement package. Every detail was perfect, very caring and considerate staff, excellent food, a breathtaking accommodation with our own bath and amazing views over the lake and Mount Cook. They managed our wedding day and provided wonderful photos and made us feel relaxed and comfortable. Mike and his wife Anna and their staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We had a stress-free, elegant wedding, from start to finish top notch service and personal, kind hosts. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable of the area and sorroundings, always happy to help and suggest highlights of the area. We enjoyed using their bikes for exploring and got lost in the beautiful relaxation massages Anna gave us. No doubt, this is a gem in the McKenzie Country, we will back at this special place.
