★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited this place. I was accused of staying the night which was not true. We arrived around 8am and left for breakfast at a cafe around 9.30am. The accommodation at best was a backpackers. Insects were biting my feet as I removed my shoes on entering. I would not stay here at all. I was concerned for my elderly Aunty staying there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here for over one week while touring NZ, rooms were cozy and clean and there is a lot of good food places around. The Rangitiki river is also so beautiful and refreshing to swim in, just 10 minutes walking to a good swimming hole!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Am a motorbiker who got stranded at Bulls coz of bad weather. Had to knock on their door just after sunrise. I had a warm welcome and they accommodated me without a hesitation. The place was really tidy and had all the necessities. Plus a very friendly host.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were 5 hours late, the host stayed up. Greeted us on arrival and had cooked us pizzas that were far better than any fast food chain. Very accommodating and a lovely relaxing stay. Highly recommended to anyone!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved staying here, this is the closest thing we have to a grand old manor, the gardens are amazing. We walked up to the bulls township for breakfast. There are a lot of places to hide and have a chill out. There's a bath to put the kids in or chill if it's been a hard one. Totally recommended by this plumber. Great place to lose the kids with the big gardens for them to explore.

Bulls is located a nice distance between Wellington and Auckland, and gave us a chance to get to Auckland comfortably in one day after arriving in Wellington on the ferry. So I'd recommend the location for people on the same journey.
The lodge was very tidy, with a great garden, and some cool cats casually hanging about. Beds were very comfy, and everything that we could have needed was at hand.
The host Rhys was really friendly, and welcomed us after a last minute booking as we arrived late at night, just before the office closing time at 10pm.
I'd definitely recommend staying here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great welcome from Rhys and his mum. Accomodation is comfortable and well kept. Close enough to walk to town centre though far enough away from traffic noise of the State Highway. Will book in again when working in Bulls next.
