★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice walk at the start from Cove road. Useful map showing which way to go and how long the walk takes. However the bush walk is short and one quickly comes to a sealed road that climbs the hill at terrific angle. You can infact drive up this road and park at the top. A good idea for those not so fleet of foot. When the road ends the climb to the top continues for at least another half an hour. Unfortunately there are only rare opportunities to see the spectacular coastal until you get too the top...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The short part of the track through native bush is lovely but the rest is not that great, despite some nice views. Mainly just farm road. Better option is to start from King Rd in Mangawhai and walk the Tanekaha/Langsview loop, much nicer and mainly in bush and forest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice established scenic track from the car park through the bush leads to an old sealed road. If you are fit for a steep long climb - the road takes you to the top of the hill with spectacular 360 views over Mangawhai, Hen islands, Langs and beyond. The road then carries on but at that point we chose to turn back.
