★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful walkway. I did this trail with my 10kg baby on my back. I walked along the road from the north end of Lang’s Beach to the Waterman Dr entranced and it took a leisurely 45 min to Waipu Beach, though I didn’t take any long rest stops. Well marked the entire way from Waterman Dr. The trail is not well marked at Lang’s Beach but I expect it would have been easy to find if I had been willing to scramble over the rocks a bit more (but was cautious with baby with me). The rest of the trail is fairly level, with one short ladder, one stile to climb, and one tree to scramble over. Runners suggested - not good for sandals/jandals. Would have been even more beautiful views going from Waipu to Lang’s. Good spots to stop for snack at Pancake rocks, or at beach area about 1/2 way (I think would be underwater at high tide).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good adventure here. Maybe not the best place to take the kids or the dogs when it’s wet and it gets rather muddy. But when it’s dry it’s a great walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome - love it. The road now has a footpath almost the whole way (length of the walkway), so a Waipu Cove cafe stop, and return on the road is great. Will do again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! One of the most beautiful places in NZ, absolutely stunning. Thank you to all the private land holders that have made this walk possible. The views are magnificent and the pancake rocks are just so interesting. The track is tricky in some places. There are also some nice private beaches on the walk and the day we went the water was crystal clear.
