Weird because she was all giddy with the male staff and i was minding my business, said hello when i walked in and she gave me the death stare. I walked in with my husband, not interested in that man you were trying to get with. Left the store without purchasing anything and i’m glad i did.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to this so called Lawson convenient store in Newmarket on Wednesday (29/12/2021) around 6:30 & the service I received was absolutely shocking. They got a shelf in the store, stating that Buy 1 popcorn get 1 popcorn free and ALL EXPIRED ITEMs are $2. Got charged $15 instead of $2 for a popcorn that expired ON THE DAY (29/12/2021), the staff argued with me that this item has not expired so you pay full price. What a rip off so I request a refund and the staff who served me was very rude. Not gonna come back again it's a fake store anyway, what a shame.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We go Lawson Victoria Street very often as close to work. Everytime we go, the staff at the cashier are nice and friendly. However, staff at the counter today was really rude and not friendly at all. Shame for someone does customer service job has such a bad attitude. Not really bother me much, will still go to purchase. Just as one of the regulars, have someone with such a bad attitude at the counter is not going to benefit the business in all ways, and was shocked as all other times we visit staff are always nice. Even hard to hire staff at the moment, please hire someone with a right attitude. Thanks

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went into that convenience store expecting to enter a Lawson store from the Japanese company and was surprised that their product selected is quite different. As it turns out, it's just a blatant copy that uses the exact same name and logo and branding closely resembling the real Lawson. I'm honestly surprised they got away with it thus far, hopefully someone will take legal action about it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went into Lawson for the first time today.
It does have some similarities to the Japanese stores but if you're expecting it to be a clone of the Japanese outlets, then you'll be disappointed.
I noted the microwave, hot water & induction cooktop (with Japanese usage instructions) as well as the small eating area. Also the hot food warmers as well as soup offerings. But the similarity stops there.
It should be acknowledged that food outlets can & do tailor their products to the local tastes. However, Japanese usually pride themselves on their healthy dietary options. So, I fail to understand the overemphasis on fried chicken.
My suggestion... reduce the amount of fried chicken being offered and increase the fresh food offerings such as ready to eat noodle bowls, fresh cut sandwiches and the mouth watering bakery items.
If their aim is to be just another convenience store, then they're doing a good job. If they want to be a stand out convenience store then I'd call that a fail.
Japanese convenience store food in Japan is really, really good (and no I'm not crazy). This on the other case is like an imitation of the real thing. If they can't bring us the real thing, why bother?
