Our History
Lazer Photos & Camera's is a specialist camera store located in Whakatane, Eastern Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. We have been supplying and servicing the photographic industry since 1987 for both amateur and professional photographers. We are a proud locally owned and operated store that pride ourselves with having the best service and leading technology in the industry.
In 1987 Paul Wardlaw purchased the photographic business and throughout the years of Paul owning and running the business it has seen and been through enormous amount of industry changes from being the one stop shop for film developing/processing to the new world of digital technology.
Lazer Photos & Cameras have always been a tight knit family with great long term dedicated staff who love and support the industry. In 2014 Kendan Gibson a long time staff member of 8 years at the time bought into the business becoming the managing director. Kendan started working at the shop in 2006 and has seen many changes in the industry and was ready to take the shop into the future by continually reinventing the business to keep up with the fast pace changes in the digital world we live in today.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A staff member tended to me as soon as I walked in, and was very knowledgeable, spent 20 minutes talking through various accessories and features of photography equipment. Prices are very high, but you'd expect that from a local brick and mortar store as opposed to online. With online sales increasingly popular, I don't see much future potential growth in stores like this, but I really would love to see it do well.
