About Leafy Hollow Lavender
In October 2005 we, Pauline & Robert Livesey, purchased an established garden, lavender and rosemary propagation nursery in Waiuku, South Auckland, and became custodians of the North Island Lavender Collection.
Our aim was to restore the gardens to their former glory providing a fragrant, beautiful tourist attraction and continue to build upon the work of former owner, Peter Carter, by offering the greatest selection of lavender species in New Zealand.
Since then we have become full-time lavender growers making many changes to our slice of paradise. In addition to the existing lavender nursery we now have display areas, planted more rows of lavender, developed a workshop for product-making and the large cottage garden is flourishing.
We run workshops for small groups, entertain large groups with tours and talks and, during the winter months, get out and about the Auckland area to talk to a range of social groups. We don't have much time to sleep!
Our plants have been imported from all over the world. Leafy Hollow holds a collection of over 200 cultivars. Only a selection are advertised for sale at any one time. If you can't see what you are looking for in our catalogue contact us. We may be able to help.

β β β β β Went with the Papakura Historical Society we had a very nice tour of the grounds and a lovely afternoon tea ..... You are able to purchase lavender plants from their nursery as well as beautiful lavender products and gifts

Pauline (owner) is very friendly and accommodating.
She gave us a tour around the property and even showed us how Lavander Oil is made. Lots of Lavender products available for purchase.

The owner, Pauline, is such a lovely lady, and she took me on a tour of the farm. It is harvesting time now, and distilling is happening ? Different variants provide different amounts but about 10kg of lavender produces around 200ml of oil ??
There is also a beautiful 3 acre garden with the most amazing flowers and plants ??
This is absolutely a hidden gem worth visiting. There might not be lavender left for long, but you can buy products, ??????and explore the garden
