Before I accepted the quote, I rang and consulted with the staff and agreed and deposited the fee.
Then came back charging me extra $795.00 plus GST!
From $1,300 to $ 2,231.00 I withdraw from the contract and they charge me $100.
I spoke with your staff and you charge me for failing to do your own job! You rip people off!!

Our first purchase attempt went pear shaped at the 11th hour and this team helped us get out of a potentially expensive situation. The second purchase attempt went smoothly and they provided information at every stage so we had a clear understanding of what we needed to do. Location wasn't an issue, we are on the South Island and there was still no hitches and they understood the issues of Christchurch/Canterbury homes.
Would definitely recommend and use again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beware of this company. I have chosen this company because my friend recommended it but apparently it wasted my time and money. I have paid almost $300 after accepting a quote of around 2500. Then the person in charge did an AML check for so long and that person replied my email like 5days after. I replied with relevant documents promptly and in the last email she never replied. As the date approaches for selling my house, I asked them to prepare the S&P then they replied I was declined due to failed AML check. They also mentioned that I’ve failed to accept the new quote so they couldn’t proceed with my case. I have already replied twice to her email saying that I can accept the new quote but they said I haven’t accepted it?? I requested for the refund of my deposit and yet they took away most of my hard earned money due to admin fees and charges and I only got $34 back. It was so unprofessional and unethical for charging clients when they didn’t do anything and wasted my time by asking for so many documents and I’ve provided them with everything they’ve asked for. Please take the responsibility and return my deposit as this process has caused me lots of stress as I have to find a new solicitor in a hurry. Pls refund my deposit!

As an Aucklander who wanted a better experience of a property legal conveyance compared to two previous disappointing experiences through Auckland firms, I choose Legal Path/Halliwells in Hawera. There were a few negative reviews on their site, but I 'read thru the lines' and ignored those. That was fortunate because the level of service and professionalism I got through Legal Path was exceptional and really good value for money,
Was lucky enough to have Lochlainn Basford as my solicitor.
