β β β β β It was the worse ever service from the night shift staff,he treath me because i'm snooring near from his bed..he was wake me up straight away to move in another bed far from his bed..that's normal snoring as well but this kind of staff pretend if he is the owner..also,the hostel have a lot bedbugs,small kitchen and not even recommended from the room prices

β β β β β Worst hostel in New Zealand in my three weeks here. Poor staff, poor accommodation, so many rules I felt like I was staying with my parents when I was still in middle school, not clean, not friendly, not even a good price. Trust me and find a hostel down the road.

β β β β β Superb staff, very helpful, fantastic accommodation, also helped me in finding part time job, rooms are neat and clean.... If you are coming in Tauranga, Newzealand, must stay in loft 109. I loved it.... I would have given 10 star if it would have been there.....??????

β β β β β Can confirm they have weird rules in place such as only allowing alcoholic drinks between 6p to 10p. The owner apparently didn't know Kombucha is not a beer and almost went ahead and issued me a fine. Oh yes there are also fines for leaving you dishes, for making loud noises when drunk (OK these might be alright in enforcing displicine but is it legal?). The also charge 5 dollars for luggage storage. Given the price they charge (185 per week for 6 beds dorm) it's just outrageous. Only came here after seeing a job ("kiwifruit" planting, which is in reality kiwi orchard development, and you only got to plant shelterbelt plants) posted on backpackerboard, but be warned that these jobs they put out are only from firms owned by the owner's friend, and they want to make you feel you owe them the offer.
To be fair, it is nice to have direct flame for cooking though. But that was probably only thing that's good about this place.

β β β β β Bed bug bites have continued, even after leaving 5 days ago and washing all of my things. I could see them walking on my bed and on the bunk bed above where i was sleeping, they did Nothing of the situation they just sprayed the matress' and changed the sheets and moved me to another room because they "couldn't see any bedbugs" , I recommend staying anywhere but this place, the rooms had no air con it was very hard to sleep even with the window open, it was very stuffy, wasn't very welcoming at all there were so many unnecessary rules in place it was like a jail. Being a kiwi this place was filthy and outrageous, I couldn't believe they expect people to live like that. There was only 1 worker who actually helped us and was polite, the other workers were rude.

β β β β β Definitely not clean!!! Walked in and walked straight out. There was some guy cutting up ciggys as you walk in. It was cluttered with stuff everywhere and the guy who was behind the counter didn't tell us there was hidden fees until we got there. He wasn't friendly at all so cancelled our booking immediately. Would not recommend this to anyone.

β β β β β Arrived before 8pm check in time and the main door was locked. Rang the number on the door and no one answered. Booked elsewhere. They proceeded to charge me, and didn't belive me initially. The customer is always right, first rule of business. Wasted an hour of my time trying to sort it out. Very uninviting, and rude service. Avoid at all cost until they learn how to run a business.
