★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maybe bitten off more than can chew. Maybe should ease up on the takeaway orders to avoid delays in the restaurant? Staff were doing their best but we waited 15 minutes to be seated. With a booking. And our table sitting free.
Not an intimate dining experience with takeaway customers walking past and milling around.
Food was ok.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came in and waited 30 minutes to even get a drink, got our entree waited 1hour for our mains, this would not have been a problem but watching a table arrive and receive their mains within 20 minutes while we are still waiting for food we are a table of 5 their a table of 4 and half way through their main we are still waiting for our mains and 2 of our entrees that never arrived. I love the food here but this was the worst service I have ever experienced. Still have yet to be served second drinks . 1 hour 30 minutes later 2 out of 5 of us have our mains.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a truly excellent meal my friends and I friends enjoyed. I had the pad thai and it was delish, espically when garnished with the lemon the meal was served with. The service was also both prefessional and friendly. I would love to back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing Thai food - probably the best I’ve had in New Zealand (and that’s saying something as I eat Thai a lot)! Everything was delicious, and the staff were so friendly and helpful despite a consistently full restaurant for the entire night - they were just wonderful! I think we’ll be eating here again before we head home, and will definitely be heading back there again on future visits!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thai Lotus is the best of the Thai bunch in Taupo with a cosy Thai styled decor, polite service and a family restaurant vibe. It has lost something in the change over of ownership in terms of service but the food and flavours are still good. Worth a meal if you're in Taupo for more than a day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful dining experience was had at the Lotus Thai. Its one of my favourite places to visit when in Taupo.
I had the Duck with Cashews. A sweet, medium hot dish with vegetables and rice (in a heart shape - nice touch)
The service was amazing as usual. Such nice staff and very attentive.
Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food was excellent. In was in no way their fault I didn't enjoy my yellow curry, that was all on me. The entree coconut soup (forget it's name) was wonderful undertones of Tom yum flavour without the heat. Hubby throughly enjoyed his kebabs and green curry.
Highly recommended.
