You've just gotta see the monster trees here! Amazing place! Unspoiled beauty!

Loved driving up here but can be quite difficult in wet weather especially if you're a beginner driver. As it's not wide enough in same places for 2 cars to pass. Lovely place to go to get away from the city. Do not try the pathways if it's been raining...give at least a day if sunny dry weather before going up. Or else it will be impossible to get down without injuring yourself.

Recently half the lower grounds have been deemed rotten and the area destroyed...dispite the heartache at the loss of our beautiful blue gum stand planted in the 1970s the upper walks and valley of lucys is preserved in accordance with our resource manage act, vitually a untouched national park within minutes of okura. Here with little ones you can search for dinosaurs or tackle the reasonally challenging 3hour walk right up into the red wood and mac stands and the gateway rangers to mount egmount national park..now call mt taranaki

Beautiful big trees, they just keep going up up up ?. Go to the toilet first, cause the toilets are well outta use ??. Otherwise enjoy. Not sure what the tree felling is about on off road upto the top park ??‍♀️?.

This place is fantastic and well signed. Make sure you stick to the path as you can get lost and phone signal drops in and out. The redwoods are outstanding and provide a fantastic photo opportunity

Used mostly for trail access. Map location isn’t quite right - keep driving up the hill until you reach the end of the road. Trails OK but quite overgrown - I tried to walk to the trig but had to turn around. Waimoku/Sefton Ridge loop in OK condition.

Seems to be a hidden gem for walking in. Nice flora and tall trees at the entrance of the walks. Steady climb up the Waimoku track along a ridge. Plenty of tree roots on the path to secure footings. Approx 45min one way up. Return down is z quick return trip. A bit overgrown but still a tradable track to follow.

Love doing the loop walk here but think it's much easier taking the right most track which involves crossing the river first instead of at the end on the way back. Ending the walk seeing the giant redwoods is not only lovely but also avoids having to walk down some of the steepest slipperiest areas which are much easier to walk up than down
